Khoob Ladi Mardani Woh To
Jhansi Wali Rani Thi.... That’s how we remember Rani Lakashmi Bai, the Queen of
Jhansi whose bravery and fearless sacrifice have made her an incomparable
example for not only the future generations of women but also men. History has
been witness to many women with extraordinary courage and acumen, but only few
of them can be compared with Rani Lakshmi Bai who fought shoulder to shoulder
with the men of her army against the British.
Speaking on the occasion of Rani
Lakshmi Bai Jayanti, Dr. Ashok Kumar Gadiya, Chairperson, Mewar Group of Institutions,
stated that today’s youth, both men and women, need to emulate the example of
supreme sacrifice that Lakshmi Bai set for all of us.
Dr. Gadiya warned that faced with
the unprecedented dangers of terrorism, we cannot behave like pigeons with
closed eyes in front of cats. He further stated that we, as a nation, need to
review our country’s progress from 1980 till now in terms of our defense
preparedness, both internal and external. He added that students need to learn
from the sacrifice made by Rani Lakshmi Bai and Indira Gandhi to the cause of
nation.
Students presented various
cultural programs, which included group songs, poetry recital, speeches, and
dance, all centering around the life, sacrifice and contribution of Rani Lakshmi
Bai to the nation.
Dr. Alka Agarwal,
Director, Mewar Group of Institutions, presented the vote of thanks.
Dr. Agarwal said that women like Rani Lakshmi Bai and Indira Gandhi proved that
there is no gender difference when it comes to will power and courage. She
further added that today we need to remember women of the freedom movement era
who made countless sacrifices and contributed to theindependence movement of
India.
All the senior officials, faculty
members and students enthusiastically participated in the celebration. The
